T dialer is asking for location access
- /e/ version: v1.17-T-dev
- Device model(s): Beryllium
- Developer mode enabled: no
- Device rooted: no
- Trackers blocker enabled: yes
Summary
There is an issue with a notification in the default dialler app appearing after a fresh install of Android T. The notification says "to get contact information for places near you, allow access to your location - dismiss/allow"
This is potentially an unwanted notification and an issue that has already been notified for prior Android versions (had been solved but came back no).
The problem
Steps to reproduce
- Fresh install (tested on Beryllium)
- Open default dialler app
- Click on the search field on the top ("search contacts")
What is the current behavior?
Once you followed the steps as indicated above, the pop-up window opens (as described in the intro)
What is the expected correct behavior?
The notification as shown above is unwanted. Ideally, when the users clicks on "search contact" s/he should be enabled to search for contacts in the contact list without this notification opening up.
