[HIDL][AWARE] Check for and fix corrupted char[] from legacy HAL 

Check that char[] from legacy HAL are:
- Null terminated
- ASCII (truncate up-to first non-ASCII)

Test: integration (sl4a) tests passing (up-to other issues)
