⚠ Draft: Suggestion for quick device aliases fix

Description

Same fix as this MR extracting the aliases logic to a previous block that can eventually be implemented with device-specific config in a JSON file.

⚠ I have not checked this works and I have used the Web IDE. It's for illustration purposes that a quick fix need not hijack main logic with custom exceptions.
