Issue - apps without an app privacy rating
- /e/ version: e-1.19-T-dev
- Device model(s): Bluejay
- Developer mode enabled: no
- Device rooted: no
- Trackers blocker enabled: yes
Summary
I recently came across an app in App Lounge without a privacy rating. Instead, there was a repeat symbol showing (such as this one). When clicking the symbol, App Lounge proposes to generate a new rating via Exodus. This seems to be the implementation of the following issue: #6537 (closed)
- The problem: The rating that Exodus generates (2 trackers found) is different from the score that App Lounge displays for the same app some hours later.
- The app tested: com.localphone.localphoneapp
The problem
Steps to reproduce
(Not sure this is reproducible as the app has received a rating now)
- Found the Localphone app (com.localphone.localphoneapp) within App Lounge
- Clicking the repeat symbol that shows instead of the pricacy rating. This leads straight to the webpage of exodus-privacy. The site displays that the app has an old/outdated rating (the previous one was from 2020 sa stated on Exodus website) and proposes to generate a new one.
- Following the steps within exodus-privacy.eu.org to generate a new rating.
What is the current behavior?
- exodus-privacy displays two trackers found (Google CrashLytics + Google Firebase Analytics) (https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/de/reports/409965/#trackers)
-
App Lounge for the same app displays now seven found trackers.
(it was tested the same day, about three hours after the exodus rating has been generated)
What is the expected correct behavior?
The 2 ratings are different from each other, but they should not be.
