Updater stops when activated
- /e/ version: 1.14-s20230816320616-stable-FP4
- Device model(s): Fairphone 4
- Developer mode enabled: no
- Device rooted: no
- Trackers blocker enabled: yes
Summary
"Updater" app stops (crashes) when activated from "Settings". This means the Fairphone cannot update its e/os.
The problem
After some month of inactivity, I started the phone and noticed 4 pending updates for e/os: 1.14, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17. In "Settings" I chose "1.17", but it stopped shortly after beginning the update. Then I chose "1.14" and it installed the update successfully. However, since then "Updater" immediately stops execution when activated from "Settings" as described above.
Steps to reproduce Start "Updater" from the "Settings" app.
What is the current behavior? The app stops immediately when activated. When activated again a dialog box appears: "Updater stops every time" choose "terminate app" or "app info" Expected behaviour would be to show the remaining /e/os updates (1.15, 1.16, 1.17) and provide the opportunity to update /e/os.
