When the version number doesn't change App Lounge doesn't detect the updates for F-Droid's apps
- /e/ version: 1.3-S-dev
- Device model(s): Beryllium
- Developer mode enabled: no
- Device rooted: no
- Trackers blocker enabled: yes
Summary
Certain apps from the F-Droid repository are not being updated within App Lounge.
At the same time the F-Droid app proposes those apps to be updated.
The problem currently appears with
- Mull
- Element
Mull was recently updated to v116.0.0 (07.08.2023) Element was recently updated to v.1.6.5 (29.07.2023)
For both apps there is a newer version available (a minor update?) with the same version number and the same date. Possibly App Lounge does not recognize that newer versions are available although size-wise there are differences between the two versions.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
Install Mull or Element with the F-Droid app. Make sure that you do not install the latest version but the prior one withthe same version number and wait for App Lounge to update (which is not going to happen unless again a newer version will be pushed out)
What is the current behavior?
As described above in the intro: App Lounge updates the 2 apps but not to the latest version.
What is the expected correct behavior?
When the version number is the same and the date of the update as well, find a way to identify the latest version of an app to be able to update to this version.
