Keyboard - when using multiple languages, there is no visible indication anymore what language currently is set
- /e/ version: v1.10-S-dev
- Device model(s): Beryllium
Summary
When using multiple languages in A12/S the user has no straight way to verify to what language the keyboard is set. This is a regression compared to previous /e/ versions.
Description
What is the current behavior?
- Currently, there are three ways to swap between different languages: by long-pressing the bar, by pressing on the little globe (next to the space bar) or by pressing the small keyboard button in the bottom right of the keyboard (quite a lot of options for doing the same thing) (see IMG-1)
- The user needs to press one of the options to select languages or just to see what language currently is set.
- There is no indication on the keyboard that allows the user to see what language currently is set (without pressing keys).
- In previous versions of /e/ (A11/R or below) there was the currently set language indicated on the bar (see IMG-2). This is a regression.
What is the improved behavior?
Ideally here is the current language set marked on the bar
What does it bring?
The users is able to know immediately once the keyboard appears if they need to swap language (in order to have the appropriate spell check).
