Assist users to reduce the usage of apps that come with trackers
Summary
Users coming from standard android system without additional privacy features usually have little awareness of the number of trackers that often come wit the apps they have installed and that they use.
With the built-in features users /e/OS are better protected from trackers.
Ideally /e/ does not only filter trackers but help the user as well to understand what impact (in terms of built-in trackers) apps have that they use in order to eventually search for replacements.
One way to raise the users understanding, would be to allow them to trace back apps that they have recently used.
Description
- Advanced privacy allows the user to find out how many leaks have been blocked/allowed to pass. This can be traced back even for hourly time slots (i.e. yesterday between 22h and 23h 11 leaks blocked, no leaks allowed - see screenshot 1 below).
- Currently, the user does have no easy means to trace back what app(s) caused those 11 leaks (in the example above).
- Ideally, there would be a simple way to display the leaks blocked/allowed. -- This could be for instance by a pop-up/overlay that opens when the user click a certain time slot (at least from the 24h view). -- This could be a new sub-page that allow the user a more in-depth research. This new page could resemble the section "Manage trackers used in applications" (see screenshot 2), but for the selected period.
Who will use this new feature?
Average /e/ users.
Why these users would like to use this feature?
In order to get a better understanding what impact specific apps have (with regard to trackers) and ideally motivate users to look out for replacements.
