When using Android 11's “Block sensors” quick-settings tile, all sensors were disabled, including the camera, the GPS sensor, the gyroscope and the microphone, so that no app could access them. Though, when initiating or receiving a phone call, the access to sensors was temporarily re-enabled so that the microphone could be used.
In Android 12, there are similar quick-settings tiles for blocking microphone and camera access. Though, when “Block microphone access” is active and you're initiating or receiving a phone call, then the system does NOT automatically unblock microphone access anymore.
When trying to access the camera while camera access is blocked, then a popup appears with a button to unblock camera access. But for phone calls, you have to manually unblock microphone access, which is quite unhandy.
Automatically unblocking microphone access for phone calls would also fix #6423 (closed).
