App Lounge Overhaul start page
Summary
The Google contents of the start page is not really helpful for /e/OS users.
Description
If non open source apps are displayed the start page shows the rankings that come from Google: "Top Free", "Top Grossing" and "Top Trending". These rankings are (at least for me and I hope for most /e/OS users) not interesting, even more as the apps from the play store are only part of all available apps.
Additionally currently among the "top free" apps there are two so-called Cleaners/Boosters. These apps are at least useless, if not dangerous, data octopuses. It is strange to have them displayed in App Lounge.
Therefore I suggest to always display the start page that one can see if only open source apps are displayed with these new features:
- New page linked to the respective headline:
- all apps listed chronologically by last update
- all games as above
- on these pages a filter button to switch between apps/games/all
(see also here #5095 (closed))
Who will use this new feature?
Every user of the App Lounge
Why these users would like to use this feature?
Privacy friendly, a bit more "de-googled", informative
