Vendor/Firmware should be included in /e/ builds.
- /e/ version: All Versions
- Device model(s): All
Summary
Vendor/Firmware should be included in /e/ builds.
Description
What is the current behavior?
/e/-Oreo ==> (Samsung Firmware Android 10 + Time spent on searching for the same) ==> /e/-Q
What is the improved behavior?
Installation should be /e/-Oreo ==> /e/-Q.
What does it bring?
To make the installation of /e/ OS trouble free and the user doesn't need to search for vendor/firmware file all over the internet, especially when the user is a novice and at times the source cannot be trusted.
Examples
As a user, I had to flash Android 10 firmware(downloaded from SamMobile site) on Samsung Galaxy S9, before installing Q build of /e/, as the phone was on /e/-Oreo build.
So the overall process ans experience was not good.
/e/-Oreo ==> (Samsung Firmware Android 10 + Time spent on searching for the same) ==> /e/-Q
It should be /e/-Oreo ==> /e/-Q.
Validation
Install /e/-Q over /e/-Oreo build. The installation/upgrade should be successful.
