Wrong Location tag on pictures on Android 10
- /e/ version: 0.13-q-stable
- Device model(s): FP3 & GS290
No problem on Android 7, 8 and 9.
Summary
The location tag on pictures (and maybe videos) is wrong.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
- Enable location in Settings > Location.
- Open Maps and wait for the phone to locate you (to make sure there is no issue).
- Open Camera > settings logo > Location settings... > enable "Store location data (Geotagging)" and "Require location data".
- Optional : in Camera > settings logo > Photo settings > Use addresses > enable "Prefer address to GPS coords" if you want to know where you are located without the need of copy/paste the location coordinates in Maps.
- Re-open Camera, allow it to access your location.
- Now you have on the top right, under the information about ISO, a location symbol. Take a picture once it has your location.
- Go to Gallery, display the picture you just took, click on the 3 dots and on "Details".
- The "Location:" line should be wrong.
What is the current behavior?
In my case, I'm located at around 100 km from my real position. The weird thing is that the coordinates are round numbers, like "36.000000,14.000000" or like "74.000000,39.000000" for instance (I won't tell what it is exactly in my case).
What is the expected correct behavior?
You should instead see your real position, which should be more something like "36.568479,14.974795" or like "74.975686,39.247047" for instance.

Workaround
Possible fixes
Since the coordinates are round numbers, I think it just applies a default location, no matter what the real location is.
