Bliss Launcher silently crashes in the background even when not default launcher

I'm using Lawnchair because I don't like some features of Bliss Launcher (namely, the inability to automatically re-sort apps in alphabetical order after installing new ones).

However, thanks to LogFox, I learnt that Bliss Launcher is apparently still running in the background... and silently crashing from time to time (see attached LogFox reports).

I believe it mostly happens when I tap the square button (= show running apps) at the bottom of the screen.

This worries me, as I’d foremost expect Bliss Launcher to not run to begin with, and not crash either.

PS: For some reason, "Bliss Launcher" was not an option when selecting the issue type.
