We only support one /e/OS version per device. We believe that is the optimal approach to keep the device upto date on security patches and bug fixes. You can upgrade your smartphone to the latest /e/OS version by either sideloading or doing a clean install. While the sideloading method may be risky it usually maintains the data on the device. The clean install would require you to format the device first. In both situations we would recommend you take a backup of your application data first.
