Stock messaging app fails to complete the "Outbound SMS" verification handshake for creating a new Google account, but the Google Messages app succeeds.

## The problem

**Steps to reproduce**
Register new google account (In my case, i used a proton pass SimpleLogin mail) on firefox on some windows machine. Google will ask to verify your phone showing a qr code. Scanned that code using my fp6 with e/os 3.6. A dialog will appear in browser (see following preview).

You can click "Send sms" further down, opening the app picker dialog displaying e.g. message app and whatsapp. I chose e/os Message App and got redirected to the Message App, with a message draft of the verification code to the receiving google phone number.
After sending, it shows an error:

Did that a few times, starting the flow anew.
Then Installed google messaging app and it worked instantly
