## The problem
My phone had a total and absolutely unexpected crash, i.e. it was suddenly completely switched off after being used normally just moments before. It didn't restart, more precisely it started to restart and crashed again. I tried several times, also after waiting several minutes and hours.
It then seemed that the battery was completely discharched. But there are two problems. The smaller problem is the phone did not say so. It tried to restart. Usually, with an empty battery, there should be a red empty battery sign instead of the restarting attempts. This time not the case.
The bigger problems: The battery should have been round about 50 % full. This was displayed until the crash. And should have been the case regarding user experience over the last years.
Right before this accident I was using the /e/ camera app quite heavily. And after the last update it was very slow. Maybe with some bugs like slow auto focus, slow hdr, slowly saving pictures on hdd and making multiple pictures instead of just one. I also made some videos. But non of this explains the crash nor the malfunction of the battery monitor.
During that day, after recharging over night, I used camera quite much for photos and some videos. In the last 20 minutes right before the crash I used it quite a lot for picuteres and some videos. Also many hdr pictures.
**Steps to reproduce**
It did not occur further more. The battery monitor and camera app seem to be okay.
## Technical details
After recharging on that crash day, the battery monitor indicated a battery level of about 50 % at 5 p.m. (17:00) wich was 20 minutes before the last picture, i.e. the crash, right at the beginning of using the camera app a lot.

The battery information in the battery / energy app said that day that the battery is in good state. It still does.
There was no temperature / heat issue.
Hence it seems that during that 20 minutes the battery used 50% of its potential - without the battery app i.e. energy monitor noticing and giving any warning.
