Can't change language to edit folder name

When rearranging apps in folders, i tried changing the folders' names, however when i try to toggle keyboard language (through the globe icon), the keyboard gets hidden. Basically i have to open any other app (like messages) change the keyboard language, and then come back and edit the folder name.
