SuperNight mode does not take photo (no output) — /e/OS 3.4 FP5
OS: /e/OS 3.4-a15-20260114569178-official-FP5
Stock FP5 Camera app version: v6.00.04.0038.18.0
Device: Fairphone 5
com.fp5.camera
Description:
When I try to use the SuperNight mode, the camera app behaves normally (no crash), but the photo is never taken. No error message is shown; the shutter/button appears to activate but the capture never completes and no file is saved.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the Camera app (stock FP5 camera).
- Select mode: SuperNight.
- Point the camera at a low-light scene.
- Press the shutter button.
- Wait — no photo is saved and the capture never completes.
Expected behavior:
- The camera takes the photo (or shows an error) and saves it to the gallery.
Actual behavior:
- The capture never completes; no crash, no error message, and no photo file is created. When I open another app and go back to the camera app after a while it says something like ‘This is takes longer than expected. Do you wanna close the app? ‘
Frequency:
- Always
What I already tried:
- Rebooting the device
- Clearing cache & data of the Camera app
- Resetting camera settings
- Turning off the stock FP5 camera and turning it on again
- Testing with another camera app (Default Camera app (open camera). Gives the same problem.
