Vendor Security Patch Level Sept 2025 on FP4 eOS 3.4
- /e/OS version: 3.4
- Device model(s): Fairphone 4
The problem
We have FP4 with FairphoneOS version FP4.TP32.C.0144.20251030 and when I try to flash eOS IMG-e-3.4-a14-20260114569180-official-FP4, and then relock the bootloader, I get "Device is corrupt" message on boot. This message gets removed when we flash again the FP4.TP32.C.0144.20251030 Android version.
This seems to be linked to the Security Patch Level date.
On the Fairphone website, I check about Security Patch Level of the FP4.TP32.C.0144.20251030, here it says "November 2025"
On the FP4 devices that I CAN successfully flash with IMG-e-3.4-a14-20260114569180-official-FP4. I go in the settings menu, I use the search function to look for "Security Patch Level" and I end up on the screenshot attached.
In the "Vendor Security Patch Level", it says "September 5, 2025"
Granted, it says Android Security Update dates from January 1, 2026. But I guess this is not the relevant point compared to the "Security Patch Level".
On the release notes, it says that for the 3.4 version eOS has "all Android security patches available as of January, 1st."
How can you explain the "Device is corrupt" message when I try to flash devices that have a more recent SPL ?
