SMS reception does not work for secondary user (default SMS application)

The problem

On a Fairphone 6 running /e/OS with multiple user profiles enabled, SMS reception does not work correctly for the secondary user when using the default SMS application.

Incoming SMS messages are always delivered to the owner (main) user, even when the secondary user is active. This behavior makes the default SMS application unusable on secondary profiles.

• Incoming SMS messages should be delivered to the currently active user, or
• SMS handling should be configurable per user, similar to call handling.

Steps to reproduce

1. Insert one SIM card into the device.
2. Create two user profiles:
   • Owner (main user)
   • Secondary user
3. Switch to the secondary user.
4. Send an SMS from another device to the phone number.
5. Observe that the SMS appears only in the owner user’s SMS app.

Important to share,

• The issue started after a recent /e/OS system update.
• SIM settings are only accessible from the owner user.
• There is no option to assign SMS handling to the secondary user.
• This significantly impacts usability for users who rely on multiple profiles for work/personal separation.
