Audio from Videos on FP6 is terrible.

The problem

Audio quality of recording from camera's apps (and other microphone apps) is terrible.

Using the stock /e/OS Camera app, the volume of audio is really low and sound is very fuzzy.

Using the Fairphone Camera app, the volume is loud, and there is severe distortion/scratching/corruption (sounds like integer over/underflow). It does NOT distort when talking or even shouting at it, but if there is background music is distorts severely. When recording on the outside rain, the audio is full of crackling as well.

Using the Fossify Recorder app to help diagnose the audio (because it has different options for microphone source) I found the following:

• "System default" → Sounds fine
• "Camera (video)" → Sounds really soft and fuzzy, just like the stock /e/OS Camera app.
• "Unprocessed (raw)" → Medium soft volume, but very clear.

I also tested using the stock /e/OS Recorder, the volume of audio is medium and sound is really muddy. I suspect it uses an aggressive voice filter. This is possibly a design feature, but I really wish the sound clarity was better.
