Emergency contact list not in sync with contacts app

The problem
The contacts listed in the emergency contact list isn't in sync with the contacts app.

Deleting all emergency contacts will not refresh the contact list. Not able to use the latest contact information (phone number, ...).
This issue can be critical, because in case of an emergency the displayed data could be outdated.
