Image and video date metadata lost when moving files from internal storage to microSD

When transfering default media folder of the camera (FILES: Fairphone 6 > DCIM > Camera to disk (microSD) > DCIM > Camera, all the files are displayed in gallery as if they were created on the same day and hour of the transfer.

It would be better if the gallery respects the date creation date and the moving operation only changes the file modification date upon copying - or even better make no change whatsoever as there is no practical use for this metadata overwrite.
