[Improvement] Battery icon when in Battery Saver mode should be green or blue, not red

  • /e/ version: v3.0.4
  • Device model(s): FP5

Summary

Battery Saver should make the outside of the battery icon green or blue instead of red.

Description

What is the current behavior?

Battery saver adds '+' symbol in center and makes that symbol and battery outline red.

What is the improved behavior?

Battery saver adds '+' symbol in center and makes that symbol and battery outline green or blue.

What does it bring?

For every other smartphone I've used, red on the battery icon is used to communicate low battery. That standard should be followed here. Low battery can be represented by the bar inside the battery icon changing to red instead, or if the outline is the only thing that can change color, then it could flash between red and green/blue if it's low while on battery saver. But red on the icon should only be used to communicate a problem (in this case, low battery).

Mock-ups

Note: Battery level shown here in gray to accommodate white background. Actual battery level color should remain white when not low.

Examples

Better visual queue for low battery. No confusion with the battery saver state.

Validation

Check that icon toggles between green/blue and default white when Battery Saver is on/off respectively.
