Gallery app: Cannot rotate and crop after that

Description

I cannot edit a photo using the gallery app to rotate and then crop it. The photo is saved rotated, but not cropped.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a photo in Gallery,
  2. Click the pencil (edit) symbol,
  3. Choose the Gallery app as editor (if Gallery is the only editor, this step will not be necessary).
  4. Rotate the photo.
  5. Crop the photo.
  6. Save the photo.
  7. Leave the editor.
  8. Search the newly created image file in the Gallery app.

I would expect...

...that the photo is rotated and cropped.

What happened instead:

The newly created image file is rotated but still has is original size - it is not cropped.

Workaround

I can crop the image file by opening the already rotated one (which was created with the steps about, see What happened instead:) in the Gallery apps edit mode and it is created another (3rd) image file which is cropped.

/e/OS version

unrelated issues:

This is unrelated to #6226 because in my issue, you can edit images and my issue is about images at the internal storage. The other one is about images at the sd card and about crashes (not happening to me) and about rotate, then save. My issue is about rotate, then crop, then save - no crash.

another unrelated issue:

https://community.e.foundation/t/bug-gallery-app-cannot-rotate-and-crop/72240/2?u=es9

This is unrelated to my issue because in my issue the first edit step is applied and the second is not. In that issue description (see link above), the first edit (step?) is unsaved (aka not applied) but the second is. That issue seems to be the opposite of mine.
