Find My Device crashes when SMS is received while location is disabled

The problem

I am testing the new Find my Device feature and noticed that when my device received the SMS with the code while location is disabled, Find my Device crashes.

Due to not having easy access to another device capable of sending an SMS, I am trying this by seding the SMS from the same device. I am not sure if that matters for the crash, at least when location is enabled everything works as expected.

Steps to reproduce

1. In Android Settings, disable location
2. In Android Settings, enable Find by Device and note the code
3. Send an SMS from the device to itself, with the code

Expected result:

One of the following:

1. Nothing
2. An SMS is sent telling that Find my Device does not work because location is disabled
3. Location gets enabled automatically and SMS with the coordinates is sent

Actual result:

1. A modal dialog informing that Find my Device app has stopped repeatedly

Technical details

I tried to do adb logcat but could not find anything useful in the printout. I would help if I knew what to look for.
