hide ip functionality randomly fails

  • /e/OS version: 2.9-t-20250321478215-official-FP5
  • Device model(s): FP5
  • Impacted Application: internet connection

The problem

Randomly when I try to change to Hide IP Address the functionality it crashes, sometimes it may stay a different status in the widget section (may say it's ON), while if open the Advanced Privacy it will show REAL IP ADDRESS: Exposed and the same in Manage my Internet address screen, sometimes it will try to connect and stay in connecting state for ever. Now when this mismatch happens I may have no internet connection at all or rarely it will show as hidden while it's not hidding.

The screenshoots are how the screen stays "for ever" if I try to connect Bug1 Bug2

To be able to resolve the connectivity issue I need to power off the phone and turn it back on, and sometimes not even this helps.

This has been happening since I installed e/os about 13 months ago

I have a .zip file for the bug report, please let me know which files you need me to upload

Steps to reproduce

it's random when I try to change the status from showing my IP to hide my IP, but mainly when I change from WiFi to 5G with the Hide IP functionality turned on (about 60% probability), and about 95% of probabilities of crashing if I choose Brazil in country of the Internet activity must appear from:
