Silent mode (“Do not disturb” dot) is redundant with volume pop-up icon
- /e/ version: 2.9
- Device model(s): xz2c
Summary
Both notification dot and volume pop-up menu (latter is accessible while using volume keys) should function together and not contradict eachother. Alarms should function together with the “Do not disturb” dot setting.
Description
· Nowhere does “Do not disturb” dot allow to also disable vibration. · Fully disabling sound in volume pop-up menu also disables vibrating/sounding alarms.
What is the improved behavior?
· Probably, there should be a three-level dot as “Do Not Disturb” and no option at all while using volume keys (only volume control). · Also, disabling even vibration in volume pop-up icon should probably not disable vibrating/sounding alarms, especially when the latter is set up manually.
What does it bring?
Enhances ergonomy and makes operating system less confusing.
Mock-ups
· Nothing more than sound level appears when using volume keys. · “Do not disturb” dot has three levels (loud, vibration, nothing) and corresponding icons.
Examples
