Fingerprint not recognized when device is in landscape orientation

  • eOS version: 2.9-t.
  • Device model(s): beyond2lte
  • Developer mode enabled: yes.
  • Device rooted: no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: yes.

Summary

Fingerprint recognition fails when the device is held in landscape orientation. The device does not recognize fingerprints placed in the rotated direction, requiring the user to reposition their finger as if the device were in portrait mode.

The Problem

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enroll fingerprint while holding device in portrait orientation.
  2. Lock the device.
  3. Rotate the device to landscape mode.
  4. Attempt to unlock with the same finger placed as per the new landscape orientation.

What is the Current Behavior?

Fingerprint is not recognized if the finger is rotated 90 degrees (to match landscape orientation). Unlocking only succeeds when finger is placed in the original portrait-aligned position, even though the device is in landscape.

What is the Expected Correct Behavior?

Fingerprint recognition should work regardless of device orientation. A rotated fingerprint (e.g., in landscape mode) should still be recognized if it matches the enrolled fingerprint.
