On FP5 running /e/OS v2.8, application update fails with expired token message

The problem

My device was not able to update applications. When I trigger the update, it informs me that the token expired, whereas in the background it starts updating.
I expected the application to update without any token error message.
Steps to reproduce
- Attempt to update an application on the FP5 running /e/OS v2.8.
- Observe the token expired message.
- Check that the update is still performed in the background.
