OTA upgrade end's up in recovery on some device with 2.7 and 2.8 (both U)

  • /e/OS version: 2.7 U and 2.8 U
  • Device model(s): beyond1lte
  • Impacted Application: OS upgrade fails

The problem

When upgrading to either 2.7 but also 2.8 (both U) using the OTA installer, you end up in recovery and installation fails. In the 2.8 thread a work-a-round is found, once in recovery go to fastboot, back to recovery, accept the signature failed and install anyway and all is good. If you don't do this and just reboot you end up with your previous version.

Steps to reproduce

On a Galaxy S10 (beyond1lte) and also some others (see 2.7 and 2.8 build feedbak threads) from eiterh 2.6 or 2.7 try to upgrade to 2.8 (or 2.7)
