Losing network all the time

  • /e/ version: 2.7 (Android 14)
  • Device model(s): Fairphone 4
  • Developer mode enabled: yes/no
  • Device rooted: yes/no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: yes/no
  • SIM: physical

Summary

After a couple of hours I am not available for make a phone calls. Nobody can call me and I cannot call nobody. But everything looks normal, network is full and 5G, internet works normallish (read the second paragraph). If someone calls, he/she hears only silence for couple of seconds and after that it end the call. If I call, the same happens → silence for couple of seconds and after that it just stops the call. Calls work normal if i use VoLTE, but I don't know who is calling (Unknown ID).

There are also issues with network (internet). When I turn on the screen, I have to wait around 10 seconds for the internet to start to work. And after that it works for 15 seconds, and then I have to wait again for 30 seconds or more. Sometimes it never connects back and I have to put it to Airplane mode an back. But the Network icon is full with 5G all the time.

The problem

Steps to reproduce

  1. After restart wait for 30 min or more.

  2. Call someone.

  3. Turn on the screen and try to open anything that needs internet connection (Telegram writes on top of the app → Connecting...)

  4. After a couple of seconds use the app with the internet connection

  5. After some more time, it stops again.

What is the current behavior?

I cannot call and nobody can call me (unless I change it to VoLTE). I cannot use network (internet) for browsing the web.

What is the expected correct behavior?

I should be able to call and use network for internet browsing.

Solutions

Workaround

I use VoLTE, so I can call (but the Unknown ID is frustrating). And I use a lot of patience when using it for browsing the web.

Possible fixes

I have no idea how to fix it, but I thing that there is something with moving from 5G to gsm. I have no idea about the losing the network for browsing the web. I tried factory reset, but nothing changed. I tried with a different SIM card, from different carrier, but nothing changed.
