Contacts app fails to show results for partial phone number searches

  • /e/ version: 2.4.1-t
  • Device model(s): beyond2lte
  • Developer mode enabled: yes
  • Device rooted: no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: yes

Summary

Contacts app does not list search results properly for partial numbers.

The problem

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Contacts app.
  2. Start searching by typing the beginning of a phone number, for example, XXX or XXX YYY.
  3. Observe that some contacts do not appear.
  4. Continue typing the full phone number, such as XXX YYY ZZZ.
  5. Notice that the contact appears only after entering the full number.

What is the current behavior?

The Contacts app does not show all contacts when searching by partial numbers. Only when the full number is typed, does the correct contact show up.

What is the expected correct behavior?

Contacts should appear in the search results as soon as part of their phone number is typed in. For example, a contact with the number XXX YYY ZZZ should appear when XXX is typed.
