Summary
When attempting to update, after a period of about a minute or so, a toast pops up saying that the download failed and to check my internet connection (which is working fine for everything else). I noted the url of the update was https://ota.ecloud.global/community/beryllium/e-2.4-t-20240925436899-community-beryllium.zip and then wiped the storage and cache for the updater to see if that could fix it. I then noted that the same error pops up when trying to refresh the updater information, preventing me from even trying to start the download. I then tried to see if I could download it from a different device, so I booted up my computer and attempted to download it on there. This is when I noted that the ota.ecloud.global server was unreachable via both ipv4 and ipv6 as I was unable to ping the server. I checked my local DNS cache aligned with the one at 1.1.1.1 and it did, so it was not a stale DNS issue.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
Attempt to reach https://ota.ecloud.global/community/beryllium/e-2.4-t-20240925436899-community-beryllium.zip or anything on ota.ecloud.global
What is the current behavior?
Updater times out showing toast. Browser shows timed out error. ICMP pings never return.
What is the expected correct behavior?
Updater should be able to download updates and the domain should be available.
Solutions
Workaround
None found so far. If there is an alternate server that could be used to download the update, a manual update could be performed.
Possible fixes
I suspect this is an issue with the server or DNS settings and that end needs to be investigated.
