FP4: 'Kill foreground app' is missing from available buttons' long press action

  • /e/ version: 2.1-t-20240603406607-stable-FP4
  • Device model(s): FP4
  • Developer mode enabled: yes
  • Device rooted: no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: ?

Summary

There is no 'Kill foreground app' option when setting e.g. 'Back long press action' configuration item (inside Settings / System / Buttons).

LinageOS 18+ supposedly have this option (I can only confirm LineageOS 20 have this). Since /e/ OS is based on LinageOS (I believe LineageOS 20 currently) I'd expect this option available as well. Maybe it was moved somewhere else in /e/ OS?

The problem

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to Settings / System / Buttons
  2. Configure 'Back long press action'
  3. Find option 'Kill foreground app'

What is the current behavior?

There is no such option.

What is the expected correct behavior?

There should be one.

Technical informations

This is not a regression. I've experienced this on /e/ version 1.x and also with previous version of /e/ android (12).

Solutions

Workaround

Go to Settings / Apps, find the app and kill it.

Possible fixes

Hopefully there is a /e/ OS patch in place which removes this option from upstream LineageOS.
