AppLounge does not work anymore in anonymous mode if standards apps are enabled

  • /e/ version: 1.21.1-S
  • Device model(s):All (but tested on FP4 + GS290)
  • Developer mode enabled: no
  • Device rooted: no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: yes

Summary

When opening AppLounge, the error message "The anonymous account you're currently using is unavailable. Please refresh the session to get another one".

When refreshing the session, even dozen times, nothing happens.

Clear app data + cache, or disconnect and reconnect applounge does not help at all.

The problem

Steps to reproduce

Open AppLounge, check in app settings that all type of apps are well ticked. The error message comes instantly. If "Standard Apps" is not checked, the error message disappears.

What is the current behavior?

Current behaviour is as described above. It's not possible to search for any (non opensource) app. It's not possible to update any (non opensource) app neither. This issue appeared from time to time in the past, became more and more frequent, and since mid of April 2024 is permanent.

Moreover: When trying to log on AppLounge with a Google account, a Google page opens with "Error 404 - page not found". (See picture 2)

What is the expected correct behavior?

The expected correct behaviour is that AppLounge is supposed to open normally, to not display any error message and works correctly, including updating all installed apps.

Workaround

Using Aurora Store instead is the best workaround in the meantime. Anonymous mode works correctly by the way in Aurora Store.

Applounge_HS_2

Possible fixes

No idea unfortunately
