[Advanced Privacy] Misalignment between views counting trackers

  • /e/ version: 1.21
  • Device model(s): FP4
  • Developer mode enabled: yes
  • Device rooted: no
  • Trackers blocker enabled: no

Summary

Difference in the number of trackers in the different Advanced Privacies views

The problem

Steps to reproduce

Install apps with trackers.
Open advanced privacy.
Go to Trackers Activity Summary.
Check the 'in app detected' value for the tracker.

What is the current behavior?

The 'in app detected' value in the daily view is lower than the number of apps the trackers has been detected in total. While the view shows the amount of leaks in one day, the number of times the tracker has been detected should not be linked to daily detection.

What is the expected correct behavior?

The number of detected trackers/ apps the tracker was detected in should not change with the period of the graph so the user doesn't feel like there is an inconsistency between the Manage apps trackers field and the app's/tracker's detailed page.

In the example below, in the daily view, Google Firebase Analytics has been detected in 5 apps that used trackers during the day, but in reality, the tracker is detected in 17 apps present on the phone today
