Visual distortions on boot

Summary

Issue #6215 (closed) was wrongly closed, so hereby I re-open it.

Specifically, I have seen the following corruptions:

• flickering white and black visual artifacts all over the screen
• bright green splash screen background followed by red/orange filter (see video)
• splash screen animations appeared as repeating ~5px-high strips down the centre ~1/2 of the screen

1. Reboot the device.
2. Sometimes (not always), those visual distortions occur.

What is the current behavior?

Visual distortions occur.

What is the expected correct behavior?

No visual distortions should occur.

Workaround

Press the power button (works most of the time) or reboot. A combination of both always worked.
