Default music app stops working when used with Bluetooth
- /e/ version: v1.8-T-dev
- Device model(s): Bluejay (Pixel 6a)
- Developer mode enabled: no
- Device rooted: no
- Trackers blocker enabled: yes (default)
Summary
- Usage of the default music-app (mp3-music locally stored on the device) combined with an external wireless Bluetooth device (speaker/headphones)
- Once the screen has turned-off, the app continues playing music.
- After a little while the app stops playing
- Still, the app continues working and counting the track time - although the track ended.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
- Fresh install of e-1.8-T on Bluejay) (other devices not tested yet)
- Connection to an external Bluetooth device (tested with speakers and headphones)
- Installing mp3-music onto the device
- Start playing the music with the default music app (no settings tweaked).
- After a while the screen turns off.
- A little later music stops playing
What is the current behaviour?
When the music stops playing the user may turn the screen back on.
It appears that the music app is still running and counting up the playback time of a song although it might have ended. (curiosity: I stopped a track playing 'silently' at minute 55:10 - although the track length is only 3:04 mins)
Once I press the FWD button, the music app is playing correctly (not silently) the next song. Then they behaviour starts at the beginning
- The behaviour can be observed no matter if random or sequential track order is being selected.
- Playback stops not necessarily at the very end of a track.
- The issue does not appear when mp3 music is played with the music-app while using the built-in speakers.
- The issue does not appear neither when the screen remains switched-on.
What is the expected correct behaviour?
The music app should play music until a playlist has been played entirely or the user stops playback manually.
