Contacts: No sane options for Multi Select, Select All etc

Contacts App has lost the option it once had to Select All (/e/v0.14). That option was insufficient for managing large numbers of contacts, but now the only option is to click on each contact individually.

What is the feature? Suggested basic menu and options to be added to Contacts App when any contacts are selected.

Who will use this new feature? Anyone managing multiple contacts sources or changing phones. Anyone exporting or importing partial contacts lists.

Why these users would like to use this feature? /e/ exports to .vcf files used to (still?) only allow 1000 entries so even deselecting after previous 'Select All' option was slow, stupid and tedious. Being able to own and nanipulate one's own data requires tools and this seems a basic tool set that is inexplicably missing.

Examples

1. Filter all contacts who are in a group, select them all then export to a .vcf
2. Filter then select 'Personal group' contacts, before removing filter to see selection as part of entire contacts. Invert selection then export or delete those 'non-personal' contacts.
3. Search for all contacts with a particular country code, then select from them to share with a friend visiting that country.
