Better explain privacy ranking

Ratings. Really great idea to include privacy and energy consumption.
- For the moment I still have a bit of difficulties to understand how you come up with the privacy scoring. Example: Facebook 0.0, Facebook lite 5.0. but Frost (open source Facebook wrapper) 5.0, Wire 5.0, Signal 5.0, Telegram 5.0.

Privacy rating
Excellent to show the privacy rating in the search result. Although it is not really clear to me what it actually means and some apps that I use and trust have a surprisingly low rating.
e.g : The Chrome browser from Google has a privacy score of 5.0 and Firefox from Mozilla has a score of 3.0 ?

Lastpass is rated 0 in Privacy!?

The apps in the new /e/ app store have a ranking regarding the trackers and the permissions for each app. I think the intent is good. But, /e/ is - I thought - primarily directed toward the “average person”. The difficulty I see is this: When I look at those rankings, they mean nothing to me. I don’t know how to evaluate them. If an app has a score of 4, is that bad? I know I can drill into the permissions and trackers, but that becomes even more bewildering for me - I don’t know if those are dangerous permissions and trackers, if they are unnecessary, etc.
How will the ordinary person deal with this?
