Phone not connecting to WiFi when using a WPA2-WPA3 (WPA3-transitional) network

Summary
When trying to connect to a WiFi network which is set to use both WPA2 and WPA3 (WPA3-transitional), the phone seems to be connecting, but does not transfer any data. When WiFi point is set to use only WPA2 , connection works with no issues.
The problem
Steps to reproduce
Set a router to support both WPA2 and WPA3. Try connection to WiFi. Initially it seems to connect, but there is no data transfer. Then set the router to use only WPA2, the connection works fine. Settins it to only WPA3 also does not work. Tested on Asus 4G-AX54, with both 2,4 and 5Ghz bands.
