samsung S5 klte can not be unlocked anymore after manual upgrade to 1.12.3

  • /e/ version: 1.12.3-r
  • Device model(s): Samsung S5 SM-G900F with Baseband version G900FXXU1CQA3
  • Developer mode enabled: yes
  • Device rooted: yes (adb root is possible)
  • Trackers blocker enabled: yes

Summary

After a manual upgrade from 0.23-q to 1.12.3-r to mobile stays locked after reboot and can not be unlocked anymore

The problem

Steps to reproduce

Starting from the device with 0.23-q and TWRP recovery I followed the procedure under https://doc.e.foundation/devices/klte/upgrade .

The device is encrypted.

What is the current behavior?

The upgrade seemed to have worked without any error messages. After a reboot the devices is looked (as usual). However it can not be unlocked any more with my pattern. It still provides an error message, if I use a wrong pattern. The correct pattern results in a "click" sound and a dark screen with a lock symbol. I can repeat the unlock-procedure endlessly without any different result or error message.

The device can still be called.

What is the expected correct behavior?

Providing the correct pattern should unlock the device
