Easy Installer cannot complete installation of OnePlus 8

The problem

Steps to reproduce I followed all the steps, then when I booted into the "fastboot" menu, my device booted back into the operating system and the /e/os installer shows me that the installation failed and that I should enable steps like USB debugging etc....
