App Lounge v2.3.6 can “forget” Google log-in, requiring re-authentication

  • /e/ version: 1.4-2022-0923220394
  • Device model(s): Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact
  • Device rooted: no

Summary

With the App Lounge previously authenticated to a Google account, it can lose this authentication, showing a message that, “Google sign in failed! Due to a network error, App Lounge was not able to get Google sign-in data. [Log Out | Retry]”.

The problem

Steps to reproduce

  1. Log the App Lounge into a Google account
  2. After some time (and perhaps changing to another network such as different WiF SSID or cellular network) open App Lounge again.

What is the current behavior?

The error message will be shown.

What is the expected correct behavior?

Authentication into the Google account will be maintained.

Solutions

Workaround

Log out, then try to log in again. It may fail once or twice, but eventually will successfully authenticate once more.

Possible fixes

No idea.
