Since a few days, the above mentioned error message appears when opening App Lounge

Open App Lounge

What is the current behaviour?

Loading during 15 seconds, then the error message "Timeout fetching applications" appears. (see picture)

Most of the time one needs to retry later. But this issue occurs more and more often, each days.

This problem occurs regardless of the type of connection (WiFi, cellular network, 3G, 4G, 5G, etc.) It can occur at any time of the day.

Probably the remote server of /e/ becomes saturated....

What is the expected correct behaviour?

App Lounge should open and displays recommended apps normally.

Solutions

Workaround

A workaround is to keep a backup alternative store such as F-Droid or Aurora Store to ensure that you can install the application you want at all times.
