Camera apps are slow to take a picture on some devices

• /e/ version: 1.1 and all(?) earlier since at least aug -21.
• Device model(s): Fairphone 4, FP3, FP3+, Gigaset GS290, Xiaomi Note5 Pro, Xiaomi poco f1
• Device rooted: no

Summary

Most camera apps including the system included are on some devices very slow to take photos, sometimes several seconds.

The problem

You need to wait several seconds from trigging the camera until picture is really taken. So camera is unusable in many situations, and at least irritating on others.

Technical informations

As this seem to hit many users, I suggest developer to see if they can reproduce, and if not ask users in forum thread linked below.

The old thread https://community.e.foundation/t/camera-terribly-slow-in-fp3/19391 have some tips that help a bit on the default app, and also a suggestion on alternative app.

The current thread https://community.e.foundation/t/photo-app-to-slow/37594 suggest two apps available in App lounge that works quickly: "Simple Camera" by Tibor Kaupta, and "Secure Camera" by GrapheneOS.

Of course optimally all camera apps should work as quickly as intended (and I really would like HedgeCam2 be swift because I like it especially for great manual focus, ISO, shutter - This one is currently really slow.)

Possible fixes

I guess what really need to be fixed is in the OS, but it may help to take a look at what what the quickly working camera apps do different to the delayed apps.
