OnePlus 7T Fingerprint reader performance signigicantly degrades after system update

Summary

Fingerprint reader performance has dropped significantly after update to /e/OS 1.0-rc (from 0.22 as well as 0.23, tested on two separate hotdogb devices). The issue seams to be only when trying to authenticate. Does not matter if using fingerprint registered before or after update. New fingerprint registration seems to work normally. Issue persist after updating to 1.0-20220526188878

Steps to reproduce

Try to unlock phone or authenticate in app using fingerprint

What is the current behavior?

Very hard (but not impossible) to authenticate using fingerprint. Approximatelly only 1/15 attempts passes

What is the expected correct behavior?

Unlocking with fingerprint should be easy. Before the update, I was able to pass on 1st attempt about 2/3 of the time (without much care)

Solutions

Workaround Use other forms of authentication

Possible fixes A similar problem on some stock OnePlus devices has been reported (mostly 8T), but none of the solutions work (removing all fingerprints & pattern/pin, restart, add fingerprints again etc.)
