Browser Fingerprinting At eelo website and eelo default browser
This is not an issue, this is pretended to do so, but, i got sent here by a user with support role at the forum, when i enter the eelo (now /e/) website, a html5 and javascript request to extract the image canvas data is detected by firefox features,
And also in this same website,
I'm not understanding why a company that promises privacy is trying to uniquely identify a user,
the support dude told me that eelo does not maintain any data, but i still don't understand why you would want identify a user and after delete that ID, it makes no sense because there are other methods to identify a user temporarily (As cookies), i can understand why trying to get the screen or the sizes of the browser, this can be used for adjust the UI, but, why the website is trying to extract the canvas data, the website is not providing something related with the canvas,
my question is: why this is happening, is necessary, its for support, ads, donations?
I'll be waiting for your answer, thanks
regards -bayron.
