Summary

When "Fast Charge" setting is set to disabled (Settings>batttery>Fast Charge), the phone is still charging in fast charge mode.

The problem

With a decharged phone:

• Open the battery setting page ("Settings>batttery").
• Check that the "Fast Charge" setting is enabled (green button activated).
• Charge the phone with a compatible fast charge charger (ideally the original Sumsung charger).
• Wait one or two minutes
• Monitor and record the remaining charge time (Top left screen).
• Set the "Fast Charge" setting to disable (grey button activated)
• Wait one or two minutes
• Monitor and record the remaining charge time (Top left screen).

What is the current behavior?

The remaining fast charge time and the remaining slow charge time are the same or almost the same.

What is the expected correct behavior?

The remaining fast charge time and the remaining slow charge time should not be the same or almost the same.

Solutions

Workaround

Connect the phone to a charger with a limited current output like a laptop USB port. In this case, the phone is charging in slow rate and the batterie life is preserved.
